We’re pleased to offer our guests the Fantasy Island tour. The information below provides a detailed explanation of your tour. Please note that all guests have 100/- paid from the price they pay to us donated to Kenya Kesho, a local charity, whose motto is “educate to eradicate poverty.”
Description
Arriving at Shimoni, you’ll board one of our well-appointed dhows. Sent ahead is our dolphin spotting dinghy – following pods to take you, hopefully, to the dolphins. As partners of the Year of the Dolphin 2007/8 & now extended beyond, we follow a sustainable responsible code of conduct.
Sail in the calm waters on the leeward side of the island and enjoy guided snorkeling and diving at excellent snorkeling & shallow diving sights. Cared for and have fun with the Charlie Claw’s team whilst snorkeling, using the dinghy viewers or diving. From the best swimmer to the non-swimmer, no one is left alone. The single or fun dive is so interesting — diving between and around interesting coral heads. All equipment is provided including glass bottomed viewers for the use of non swimmers.
Lunch on the island at Charlie Claw’s where our food is always fresh and caters for all. Rarely do guests leave without having tried the famous Charlie Claw’s crab, or alternatively choose from Succulent fish fresh from the fisherman’s basket, bar-b-qued chicken or Swahili vegetarian. An interesting , traditional choice of menu awaits your taste buds.
Everyone enjoys the beautiful sea view from the restaurant where a gentle sea breeze keeps guests cool and relaxed all through their lunch. With plenty of remaining time on the island, visit the village, join the ladies on a guided walk aboard their wooden walkway into, around and above ancient natural coral sculptures and deep into the mangroves – a rare opportunity and supporting the ladies of the island. Alternatively, relax around and in our Lazy Lagoon Pool — the only one of its kind on the island.
Sodas & mineral water on board the dhow included. Wasini Women’s Boardwalk community project: 100/-. At the restaurant, there’s an excellent well stocked cash bar.
YEAR OF THE DOLPHIN 2011 – Chepstow School will visit us to extend the Dolphin initiative programs started way back in 2007
